Jennifer M. Flood LPN
Jennifer is President and founder of The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America, which she started with her sisters while experiencing their father being diagnosed with kidney disease. Jennifer currently attends New York University where she is finishing up her bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is also on the Dean's list at NYU.She hopes to pursue her studies at the graduate level for psychology or public health. Jennifer started her career in nursing and has worked for an array of well- known hospitals including NYPH- Weil Cornell in Westchester. She specialized in psychiatric nursing working in the field for 5 years. Aside from her past career in nursing, she has also worked as a paralegal for Jack Duval Associates, a securities arbitration and annuities firm. Currently, Jennifer works on the foundation full time. Her passion and time is devoted tohelping others conquer kidney disease. She has designed most of the artwork for the Foundation, along with the upcoming “Love. Give. Life.” organ donor awareness collection with her sisters.She resides in Westchester with her daughter Meredith. When she is not working or attending school, Jennifer enjoys running, designing, snowboarding in the winter, and spending time with her daughter.
Cynthia M. Flood B.F.A. M.A.B.
Cynthia is vice president and co-founder of The Flood Sisters Foundation of America. She has a BFA of Communications Design from FIT in New York City. Throughout her college education, she did consulting work. She has worked for an array of prestigious corporations, design firms, law firms and financial institutions in New York City. From working in the business world at an early age, she acquired a wealth of knowledge in different areas of business and marketing. This valuable experience allowed for her to market herself to one successful company after the next. Such places, include, McDermott Will & Emery, Cantor Fitzgerald, Citigroup, UBS and more. Cynthia is a former employee of BNY Mellon on Wall Street. She hopes to encourage more young professionals to reach their potential. In the process, she strives on educating people about organ donor awarenss.
Heather A. Flood B.A. M.S.
Heather is a clinical social worker. She is vice president and co-founder of The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation Of America. She has a B.A. in psychology from Binghamton University and a M.S. in clinical social work from the Columbia University School of Social Work. Over the past 10 years, she has worked in a variety of settings including healthcare, mental health, residential treatment for adolescents and children. She hopes to educate society about organ donor awareness and kidney disease.
Roseann Flood A.A.S.
Roseann is a former Technical Designer with Eileen Fisher Clothing Company. She has an A.A.S. in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City . Upon graduation she received The Youth Merit Award in Fashion from the Department of Public Events of the City of New York . She has worked for Vera Industries, Perry Ellis, and Maidenform prior to working for Eileen Fisher Inc. Roseann is a strong advocate for altruistic transplants. Currently, she is a board member of the Flood Sisters
Kidney Foundation of America.
Maria Dorfner B.A. M.A.
Maria Dorfner is an award-winning medical writer/reporter/producer/director who began her career at NBC News in NYC. She has specialized in health for over two decades. She acquired a B.A. from Pace University and an M.A. in Advanced Writing from Columbia University. Her programs include the documentary series, "21st Century Medicine" on Discovery Health, "Healthy Living" on Lifetime and numerous health programs airing CNBC, where she also appeared as co- anchor. Her series, "Heart Smart" won her a Media Recognition award from the American Heart Association. She has covered medical topics from A to Z and is extremely passionate about sharing stories that have a positive impact on lives.
She has worked with numerous hospitals to help raise funds and non- profit organizations to help raise millions for those in need. She is a member of the National Association of Medical Communicators. She is also the founder and CEO of NewsMD Communications, LLC a full -service production company specializing in health content.
Maria met the Flood sisters after giving a speech for Women in Corporate America and the National Association of Female Executives at her alma mater, Pace University in New York City. She was touched by their story and welcomes an opportunity to help them raise awareness about their cause. Currently, she is a board member of the Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America.
Robyn McVicker RD.
Robyn is a Registered Dietitian. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition from Syracuse University. After graduating from SU, she attended SUNYUniversity at Buffalo where she completed a 12 month internship in preparation for an exam to become a Registered Dietitian. Upon completion of the exam, Robyn went to work as a Renal Dietitian at University Dialysis Center. Currently, Robyn is employed by Central New York Dialysis Center. In addition, she is a consulting dietitian at Liverpool Diaysis Center. Robyn has been practicing in the field of Renal Nutrition for 6 years. Most recently, she has joined the Flood Sisters in their effort to promote awareness about the need for organ donation and transplantation.
Adam Rosh M.D.
Dr. Adam Rosh is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at Wayne State University/Detroit Receiving Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He trained in Emergency Medicine at New York University/Bellevue Hospital Center in New York City.Dr. Rosh is dedicated to the social mission of caring for the underserved population. He is a board member of The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation Of America.
Sally Satel M.D. M.A. B.A.
Dr. Sally Satel is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C. She is also a practicing psychiatrist and lecturer at the Yale University School of Medicine. She is interested in political trends in medicine. Dr. Satel has testified before Congressional committees on drug policy, veteran's issues, and health disparities. Her books include PC, M.D. : How Political Correctness Is Corrupting Medicine ( Basic Books, 2001) and One Nation under Therapy ( St. Martin's Press, 2005), coauthored with Christina Hoff Sommers, and When Altruism Isn't Enough: The Case for Compensating Organ Donors ( AEI Press, 2009). Her interest in transplant policy stems from her experience as the recipient of a donated kidney in 2006. She was impressed by the Flood Sisters mission and she currently serves as a board member.
